These micro­scopic par­ti­cles can get into your eyes and res­pi­ra­tory sys­tem, where they can cause health prob­lems such as burn­ing eyes, runny nose, and ill­nesses such as bronchitis.

Homes are more air tight with increased insu­la­tion, bet­ter win­dows and tighter draft seals around doors save on heat­ing bills and increase risks from improp­erly installed fire­places, wood burn­ing stoves or dete­ri­o­rat­ing flues and chimneys.
